White Lines and Dots

White lines and dots make interesting new ornaments I designed last week. I am still experimenting with the idea. I like the idea of working with just lines and adding dots or other solid shapes. I started off with lines separating the ball into sections then went from there...no pattern.  I will probably use some acrylic paint at some point as I like the look of the lace style ornaments. They have much finer lines.

I used an oil paint marker but I find the tip to be too big. I will have to find a smaller line to be completely happy with the ornament. The ornament on the left that is red shiny glass. The one of the right that is blue satin glass ornament. The shiny glass one soaks up the oil paint on the red. The ball that is satin holds the paint really nicely. Depending on the quality of glass ball and what type you can get good results. I had some left over so I took the time to see which ball would have the best results.

I will be posting more ornaments in the coming days before New Years.
Just like to wish everyone "Happy Holidays". Until next time...Happy Crafting!!

This recycled light bulb ornament has three unique paintings. One snowman, one gingerbread man ( also gingerbread woman) and a candy cane. All individually hand painted with acrylic and no two are exactly alike. They are free hand sketched then painted.

This light bulb was created on a standard light bulb from Canada. The shape of the bulb will be European standard but still a great addition to any tree.

Quilted Ornament Ball

I had seen them online and thought they were very nice. This is my first try at making them. My mother liked it so much she asked if she could have it...well I couldn't say no. I only made one so far but they are not so hard to make. Just time consuming. I would like to give a class in making them when I practice some more.

Transport Idea for Glass Ball Ornament with Snowman

I needed to think quick as these lovely Snowmen will have a new home today. The Teacher gifts will be given out today from my two children. It's hard to transport glass and these balls are very thin so I hope they will keep them safe wrapped with snow paper around the bottom of the glass. I secured it with tape and glue but will let them now it only for one way transport home today. It is thin cardboard I had on hand covered with decorative paper and white paper for the snow looking border around the ball to hold it in place.

Personalized Teacher Gift

There is a touch of felt as the apple holds the ribbon of all the names of the class and the recipient name of this wonderful gift.

This ball has the Teacher's name with all the class names listed along with the year and individual ribbons making this a one of a kind unique gift to give from the class. Instead of giving individual gifts this idea will surely be a hit with any teacher as a memento of moments shared by all classmates.
